Life sciences and healthcare are among Miami’s top economic engines, driving job growth, innovation, and investment across the region. The city is emerging as a national leader in healthtech, uniquely positioned to advance cutting-edge research and technology in one of the country’s most diverse communities.
From wearable devices and digital health tools to AI-powered mobility aids, these innovations are opening doors for people with disabilities to access education, employment, and healthcare more fully than ever before.
That’s why Miami Dade College is hosting the 2025 Ability Innovations Workshop next week, under the theme "Tech for All: Advancing Abilities." The event will feature global pioneers in immersive technology, mobility, and digital health—including INVELON, Interlight, Biel Glasses, and Badalona Serveis Assistencials—all of whom are contributing to Miami’s fast-growing, inclusive tech landscape.
Already home to several companies incorporating AI and robotics, some of which we have featured already, such as NEOCIS and Insightec, Miami’s healthtech ecosystem is paving the way for new breakthroughs in accessibility-focused technology.
Opportunity Miami is proud to collaborate on this event as part of our mission to shape a more inclusive, innovative economic future—one where accessibility, healthtech, and entrepreneurship come together to drive opportunity for all.

Building the Bridge to Miami’s Talent Future
What if Miami-Dade had a tool to show where the jobs are growing, which skills are in demand, and how our education and training systems are preparing talent to meet them? That’s the vision behind Talent Bridge—a bold, first-of-its-kind platform connecting people, programs, and employers to power inclusive economic growth.
As part of The Beacon Council Foundation and Opportunity Miami’s commitment to solving our region’s most pressing challenges, Talent Bridge will provide the data and insight we need to close the gap between potential and opportunity. We’re grateful to the educators, business leaders, and partners already shaping this effort—and now we invite you to join them.
If you're an employer, educator, or community leader, sign up for a 45-minute interview and help us design the tool that will strengthen Florida’s Economy by connecting industry and talent.
