Water management and treatment is costly and requires a lot of energy. Several climate tech companies in Chile are tackling the issue in an innovative way and will be presenting at our next Opportunity Miami x Miami-Dade County Climate Tech Meetup on June 10th.
This is our 11th meetup at The Miami-Dade Beacon Council. In partnership with ProChile, the event will feature four/five companies from Chile in the climate tech sector.
Chile is one of the leading tech hubs in Latin America and was named among the top most innovative countries in the world. Today, 140 Chilean tech companies are operating in the U.S. with nearly 40 of them based across Florida – from Miami to Tampa.
Climate tech in Chile is crucial due to its high vulnerability to multiple hazards such as earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis, as well as climate risks that include wildfires, floods, landslides, and droughts.
JOIN US TO MEET THE COMPANIES
These companies are being hosted by ProChile, the Chilean Government Exports Promotion Bureau, which has an office based in Miami.
Kran
Kran uses “nanobubbles” (extremely small gas bubbles) to help companies improve their water efficiency and sustainability (rehabilitate contaminated environments, treat wastewater, purify food, etc.) The startup was recently named one of the top innovators by the World Economic Forum and received the Siemens Water Innovation Challenge award.
PSP Chile
Using air bubble curtains or aeration systems, PSP Chile helps to protect farmed fish and other areas of the ocean from pollutants such as algal blooms. The patented technology has been implemented in over 300 projects worldwide in less than two decades.
We Techs
Preserving water is essential for our future which has made water management a requirement for the industrial, water supply, and mining sectors. We Techs says it is committed to being an “ally” in this preservation through its advanced analytics technology to help monitor, control, and remotely analyze the management of water and industrial fluids for companies.
Mercado Circular
To transform the mass consumption industry, Mercado Circular has vending machines that allow consumers to refill containers with personal hygiene products and more. The company serves as a consulting and engineering service for the circular economy in the mass consumption industry that redesigns the product value chain to generate savings and minimize (plastic) waste.
ESG COMPASS
Created by Yale University experts, Esg Compass is an artificial intelligence-powered platform that analyzes ESG data from stakeholders, enabling a business ecosystem to anticipate risks and identify sustainability opportunities accurately.
