Register for our 5th ALC event on Sept. 18th here and our 12th climate tech meetup on Sept. 19th here.
As the future-focused arm of The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, we believe Miami’s economic future hinges on innovation, sustainability, and talent. A major part of our work at Opportunity Miami is connecting the community with academic leaders and entrepreneurs to further our central mission: imagining the Miami of 2040.
That future will be the topic for our next two events this month. The first is with our Academic Leaders Council on September 18th. Hosted by Miami Dade College at The Idea Center, the conversation will center around how artificial intelligence can elevate Miami’s talent pipeline while preparing our students for the jobs of the future. Space is limited and registration is required.
The event will feature a timely and engaging conversation on AI and its impacts on the future of education, work with renowned expert Dr. Jay Liebowitz, and insights from ALC members.
This will be our fifth event with the Academic Leaders Council, or ALC, which comprises the presidents of the six major colleges and universities and the Superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
CLIMATE TECH MEETUP
Our second event will be the next day at The Beacon Council. This will be our 12th Climate Tech Meetup in partnership with Miami-Dade County. This one will feature startups from the German Accelerator's U.S. Market Discovery Climate Tech program.
German Accelerator empowers high-potential German startups to scale globally by taking them on a fast-paced learning journey to understand, discover, and access the world’s leading innovation hubs.
The startups who will be presenting here in Miami are focused on climate solutions, ranging from procurement of recycled materials and compostable packaging to solar panels using new materials and battery charging networks.
The event will be on Thursday, September 19th from 2:30-5:30 PM. You can register here.
